But where’s that butt?

So, I have started running (a bit). I hobbled over the finish line at the TCS World 10k last week  notwithstanding the reaction from a shocked friend who flatly stated the finishing photo was morphed. Perceptions apart, if not anything else, I have, along the way (pun not intended), discovered the importance of good running shoes.

I pass by shoe stores in the malls with ads for shoes that promise toned butts. The picture’s are nice but always the cynic, I was hoping someone would really ask these companies for proof behind their claims. But fads will always be there and people will always shell out money for the latest fad.

Turns out I am not the only one who has a problem with these claims.

Why do we fall so easily for these gimmicks? Go figure – while I just pick up these miracle-gel shoe-supports that promise me total relief from any impact stress. Lovely colours too.
